ABOUT THIS BLOG

me-mono-06-drop.jpgLong ago and far away I decided to leave the golden sandy beaches of Brighton and wander around the Mediterranean for a while. That was August 2005 and I have not travelled any further than Bilbao in Pais Vasco. I do go to Carrefour most days though.

Even those of you with a very poor knowledge of geography (a crushingly boring subject for me at school taught by teachers with even less imagination than intelligence) will realise that Bilbao is not very near the Mediterranean. In fact not even close.

There are a variety of reasons for this, some pragmatic, others more esoteric. The main one is that following a slight trip a couple of years ago I have the occasional problem using my right hand. And being right handed this makes travelling fairly difficult. (Having a computer that develops a serious fault whenever someone here eats tortilla is another.)

So I decided not to go to the Mediterranean but stay in Pais Vasco. And it is a fascinating place. I have learnt Spanish (mainly with the help of the ever patient Eba and T3) and am now learning a little Euskara.

I am not sure exactly how long I will stay here, where I will go when I leave or what I will do. But I know I will return here.

If you want to know more, read more. I have not the slightest interest how many people read this, as long as those who read it find it interesting and at times amusing. It is primarily written for myself, my friends and my family. Sometimes I might make several entries a day, other times no entries for days.  Sometimes comments are on, sometimes they are off.

I am wherever I happen to be (but probably somewhere beginning with B which means Bilbao or Brighton but probably not Barcelona or Birmingham).
